How can a novelist send a manuscript to a Word editor and bring the revisions back?

CalliopeWriter keeps the local manuscript as the source of truth and uses DOCX as the collaboration format. The writer creates a Git checkpoint, exports a DOCX file, and lets the editor use Word comments and Track Changes. After the writer resolves those changes in Word, a connected agent imports the revised DOCX and proposes the manuscript structure and replacement. CalliopeWriter shows the structure and text differences before it changes the project, preserves the returned file, and records the accepted result in Git.

How the workflow works

  1. Create a local Git checkpoint before you export the manuscript.
  2. Export the manuscript as DOCX and send that file to the editor.
  3. Review the returned file in Word. Accept or reject tracked changes and resolve the comments that affect the manuscript.
  4. Keep the returned DOCX file unchanged, then start the CalliopeWriter import with a connected agent.
  5. Review the proposed chapter and scene structure and the replacement diff. Correct errors before you accept the change.
  6. Accept the reviewed result. CalliopeWriter records the new manuscript state in Git and keeps the earlier state available.
